This is only Part 1 of many posts about the upcoming game changes (and probably these design posts will occur quite frequently as we progress toward the renewed live service).įirst let me be clear – in today’s post we are ONLY talking about the TWEAKS that are present in the Closed Beta (these are items we are actually testing out in this first release round, along with extensive system and server tests), and I will NOT be talking about the much more extensive changes we are planning to implement in the Open Beta and especially for Live Service. GamersFirst will publish APB: Reloaded as a AAA Free2Play title, developed by US based Reloaded Productions Inc. has acquired all the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for the massively multiplayer online third-person shooter game “APB: All Points Bulletin,” previously developed and owned by Dundee-based Realtime Worlds Ltd. GamersFirst subsidiary Reloaded Productions, Inc. Where will you stand in the battle for control? Discover unforgettable weapons, experience incredible customization and try to survive a frenzied battle for control of the streets. Looks, clothing, vehicles and even music, all to astonishing detail and quality. Its deep, rich customization system provides players with the ability to completely personalize their identity. This dynamic where players become the core content for other players is one of the many unique features of APB.
Some will live by a higher code and instead feed on the criminals and their organizations…the Enforcers. Some players will achieve notoriety by feeding on the city, its people and its businesses…the Criminals. Its failure to generate sufficient interest from gamers also played a major part in the closure of its Scotland-based developer, Realtime Worlds, which entered administration in August after launching APB the previous month.APB takes the universal theme of Criminals and Enforcers and brings it to a persistent, open-world, online multiplayer setting in the modern, crime-ridden fictional city of San Paro. The failure of the original, EA-published, title was in part due to great expectations and a large budget combined with mediocre reviews and a lack of subscribers.
The launch of APB Reloaded marks a fresh start for the MMO after the original APB – All Points Bulletin – lasted just 79 days as a subscription offering when it launched last year.
APB Reloaded is also available to download direct from the Gamersfirst website, but without the free 10-day premium upgrade pack. The bonuses last for 10 days and are redeemed in-game, further details can be found on the game's Steam download page. The bonuses include a customisable Joker SR315 Carbine rifle and a host of XP and in-game currency buffs, including 125% bonus to all APB$ (in-game currency) gains and up to a 90% bonus to all Contact Standing (XP) gains.
APB Reloaded is now available on Steam, with new publisher Gamersfirst offering a 10-day premium upgrade pack for those that jump in before December 19.
